FORTIFIED VILLAGES - COASTAL CYCLE - ANTIBES - PANORAMA - NATURAL PARKS - SAINT-PAUL - ART
A wonderful E-Bike excursion starting from Antibes to discover this city fortified by Vauban, the Cape of Antibes, its billionaires' villas & its highest
viewpoint over the Angels Bay and the Bay of Cannes. Then we'll climb the first hills of Provence to discover another unique fortified medieval town (Saint-Paul-de-Vence). Along the way, you'll
enjoy incredible panoramic views and 2 exceptional natural parks where only locals venture in search of serenity.
From Antibes and its Grimaldi castle-museum (now the Picasso Museum), you'll love the impressive views over the Baie des Anges and the city of Nice crowned by the Alps, its ramparts plunging into
the sea, its sandy beaches, its billionaires' yachts, its flower-filled cobbled streets and its Provencal market.
After a pleasant crossing of Antibes Cape, we'll take the seaside cycle paths and discover a modern marina and its sailing port, emblematic of the major developments of the seaside resorts of the
‘80s and ’90s, a real surprise of greatness and modern architecture.
We'll then head off to discover a magnificent, unknown and unusual natural park, with its luxuriant greenery just a stone's throw from the seaside, where we'll stroll along marshes and rivers,
surrounded by lush, refreshing vegetation. After a tasty picnic of local specialities by the river, we'll continue on our way to a suggestive vegetable plain unique to our region, with the Alps
as far as the eye can see.
Finally, we'll continue our journey along peaceful paths lined with olive trees towards THE best-known and most authentic fortified village in the
hinterland of Nice, Saint-Paul-de-Vence, a veritable open-air art gallery with its intact 16th-century fortifications, where we'll have plenty of time to cycle through the enchanted village and
appreciate them from every angle. The advantage of an electric bike is that we can cover the whole village from start to finish in just a few pedal strokes (the whole route on foot takes almost
1h30) and discover breathtaking, unprecedented views over the village where Marc Chagall liked to depict the landscape. We can round off this memorable day with a rewarding meeting with some of
the village's art gallery owners, before heading back down to Antibes.
