Full-day immersion in Menton, the well-named Pearl of the Côte d'Azur, bordered by the Mediterranean and nestled at the foot of the rugged Alps between
Monaco and the Italian border. Experience this marvellous location with an innovative program that includes must-do activities as well as more unusual ones: visit a lemon farm that grows the
famous most famous golden fruit Menton (and other citrus fruits and avocados), a walking tour of the Belle Époque jewels and the brightly-colored, highly Baroque splendors of its old town. We'll
overlook the rooftops of the old town and the Bay of Menton from the monumental cemetery, then visit the city's most beautiful botanical park. Finally, what better way to discover the thousand
splendors of Menton than to finish with a stroll by the sea and why not a swim in a wild cove. The opportunity to enjoy a breathtaking view of the old town reflected in the sea at sunset (lunch
at the farm and aperitives on boat included)
A unique and surprising itinerary to learn all about Menton. Meet your guide in the morning at the Menton train station, where a 4x4 (or public transport, depending
on the day) will take you to a farm producing the local golden fruit par excellence, the Menton Lemon, classified IGP, recognized by the greatest starred chefs for its unique gustatory quality
and sweetness! An unusual visit to the heart of the Menton mountains to find out all about its cultivation and all the other citrus fruits, and of course the opportunity to taste all the products
made from these exceptional fruits. The visit to the farm ends with a traditional high-quality lunch (selected from the best local caterers) and a tasting of limoncellos (and all citrus
products).
Then, in the early afternoon, we'll head back down to the heart of the city to discover on foot the rich architecture of this city with an incredible heritage,
stemming from the splendor of its past under the sovereignty of the Princes Grimaldi of Monaco, its status as an important fishing port, and then its glorious urban development during the Belle
Epoque (palaces and sumptuous hotels). Palais de l'Europe, Hotel Westminster, Jean Cocteau artworks, Basilique Saint-Michel, the chapels of the Penitents, the squares and narrow streets of the
old town, the monumental cemetery at the summit (what a wonderful view!): all essential treasures to discover with an insightful guide.
You won't really know Menton if you don't visit what makes it so special and so rich: the botanical parks where exotic plants can best acclimatize to its
micro-climate, the sunniest in France. Together, we'll visit the most beautiful and best-maintained of them, with botanical background information. An incredible immersion in lush vegetation, in
wet and dry forests, from Mediterranean species to exotic fruits, from the lagoon with its water lilies to the bamboo groves that inspire calm and voluptuousness. A must!
Dulcis in fundo, or in english: saving the sweetest for the end, with a boat ride to either Italy or Monaco to take full advantage of the sea and the incredible light at the end of the day. The best way to end the day on a high note and to be able to say at the end: "I didn't know Menton, this town is a pearl, it's absolutely the most beautiful on the Côte d'Azur".
